Chronic Pain & Opioid Stewardship

Our goal is to support primary care providers in diagnosis and management of their patients with chronic pain and substance use.

Program Learning Objectives:

• Interpret comprehensive assessments to make an accurate and timely pain and/or substance use disorder diagnosis, plan treatment, and follow-up.
• Employ assessment techniques to determine origin, track evolution, and support treatment of chronic pain and substance use disorder.
• Self-regulated attitudes and beliefs about patient presentations to provide safe and effective chronic pain and substance use management.
• Develop comfort level and self-efficacy in managing chronic pain and substance use

• All patient cases are anonymous. Please do not shar any patient identifying information.
• Cases should be submitted to your relevant ECHO hub for review.

Credits for Family Medicine Specialists:

This 1-credit-per hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by Queen’s University for up to 61.5 Mainpro+ credits.
